KATHMANDU: With an aim to acknowledge and pay tribute to the excellence in Nepali cinema, Nepal Film Development Company (NFDC) organised the Second National Film Award 2070 on September 6 at Army Officers’ Club, Bhadrakali.
Paying tribute to the recently deceased actor Shree Krishna Shrestha for his dedication to the Nepali cinema, the event not only honoured film artistes but gathered all the people from the film fraternity on the same spot.
The award ceremony picked up the pace when artiste Wilson Bikram Rai entertained with his extempore comic dialogues while anchoring. Even dance performances by actors Dilip Rayamajhi, Karishma Manandhar, Keki Adhikari et cetera made the show worth watching. Dance performance by Neon Dance Group too was appreciable.
Among 92 films released between April 14, 2013 to April 13, 2014, film artistes were nominated in 20 different categories. And film Jhola was able to bag major awards in four different categories including Best Film and Best Director.
